Grants extensive experience and excellent reputation within the market development and sustainable finance domain will be a most valuable addition to the Panthera team when supporting investors in combining their profit and impact motives.

Markus Schuller quote:
“The global capital market is a heterogeneous aggregate of interconnected sub-systems. A significant part of these sub-systems in emerging and frontier markets is underdeveloped, insufficiently supporting the domestic real economy with sophisticated financial services. There are highways for capital to be built to make it’s redeployment towards SDGs happen. This is as difficult as it is relevant to address.

Grant is one of the leading experts in this domain. He combines the attitude of a diplomat, the passion of an activist and the market acumen of a trader. This rare combination shaped a special mind. I could not be happier to see him joining the Panthera team.”

Grant Metcalfe-Smith quote:
“I am very pleased to join the Panthera team as it uniquely integrates the ‘human’, the ‘evidence’ and ‘experiential learning’ across its investor-focused advisory, coaching and consulting services. My passion is working with investors and borrowers to develop local market ecosystems which are sustainable and connected. Emerging and frontier markets face particularly strong economic and political headwinds which makes market development work more challenging yet ever fascinating.

As a sustainable and development finance professional I am excited to work with Panthera to catalyse greater investor engagement with the most pressing issues of our time. I look forward to this chapter.”
